主要研究方向：新发传染病和疫苗可预防性传染病

主要研究领域：针对严重威胁全球公共卫生安全和我国人民健康的新发、重大传染病，主要包括新型冠状病毒肺炎、季节性流感、手足口病等，运用经典流行病学、传染病学、疫苗学、生物统计学、卫生经济学等多学科交叉技术，研究其疾病负担、血清流行病学特征，疫苗优先接种人群，疫苗免疫原性和安全性，疫苗免疫的直接和间接效果，以及免疫策略的健康影响、成本效果和预算影响等，为促进新疫苗纳入国家免疫规划项目提供科学证据支撑。

复旦大学公共卫生学院副教授，硕士生导师。杨娟于2012-2017年在中国疾控中心传染病预防控制处从事呼吸道传染病防控和研究工作。2015-2016年和2018年，作为访问学者分别赴伦敦卫生与热带医学院传染病数学模型研究中心以及法国巴斯德研究所传染病数学模型研究室进修。

近五年共发表中英文论文50篇；以第一/通讯作者（含共同）在Lancet Infectious Diseases, Nature Communications, Nature Human Behaviour, Clinical Infectious Diseases, BMC Medicine 和Emerging Infectious Diseases 等期刊发表SCI论文15篇，3篇IF>10，6<IF<10的5篇。

2015年，获北京市科学技术奖一等奖和中华医学科技奖三等奖各一项。
