 2014 CUGH Global Health Conference

Dear Friend,

Exciting news! Planning for the next Consortium of Universities for Global Health (CUGH) conference, May 10-12, 2014 (with special satellite sessions on May 9) in Washington DC is progressing very well. The conference's theme is, Universities 2.0: Advancing the Global Health Agenda in the post MDG Era

We have secured a number of superb speakers, including Jim Kim, President of the World Bank, Peter Piot, former Executive Director of UNAIDS and current director of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and Jeff Sachs, Head of the Earth Institute at Columbia University. The conference will feature cutting edge science, and to that end, we will have a special lecture by the Gairdner Award winner for global health. We will also have practical sessions on innovation, translational science, advocacy, building a better global health program, education, research, special student sessions and much more. We expect to exceed this year's attendance of 1400 people from a broad range of disciplines, representing 56 countries and 721 institutions.

The 2014 conference is also an excellent opportunity for you and your institution to promote your global health programs and activities. A brief outline of promotional opportunities available to you at www.2014CUGHconference.org/sponsorship. Please contact Karen Lam (klam@cugh.org), our conference manager if you are interested in taking advantage of any of these opportunities. Having a visual presence at our conference will allow you to reach faculty, students, NGOs, and representatives from government and the private sector who are engaged in global health.

Please take advantage of the early bird rate by registering at www.2014CUGHconference.org and ensure that abstracts from your institution are submitted this month.

We look forward to seeing you in Washington in May!

Sincerely,

Keith Martin MD
